It is easy to reach Maritime Centre Vellamo by car, train or bus. The distance to Vellamo from Helsinki is 130 kilometres, from Lahti 115, from Lappeenranta 110, and from
St Petersburg 279 kilometres.

There is ample parking space outside Vellamo for cars and charter buses. There are also six parking places for those with mobility impairment in the immediate vicinity of the main entrance. The train stop at the City Port is located just 400 metres away, and the distance to the bus station is approx. 1½ kilometres.

Moor at the pier for visiting boats, or arrive in a helicopter

You are also welcome by boat, because Maritime Centre Vellamo has its own pier for visiting boats at the northern end of the building − 60˚28,4’N/26˚56,7’E. The pier has eight berths and 30 metres of space for side mooring. The pier is not intended for overnight stay, but only for the mooring of boats for the duration of a museum visit. The pier does not have electricity, water supply, septic tank drainage or waste management services.

Maritime Centre Vellamo can also be reached by helicopter, as there is a landing area for helicopters.
