The goal with all exhibitions of Maritime Centre Vellamo is good accessibility. You can experience the exhibitions by viewing, reading, listening and touching.

Please note that icebreaker Tarmo and the other museum vessels do not have unobstructed access.

	Maritime Centre Vellamo is located at the City Port (Kantasatama) in the centre of Kotka. The train stop at the City Port is located 400 metres away, and the walking distance to the bus station is approx. 1½ kilometres. Parking places for those with mobility impairment are located in the immediate vicinity of the main entrance, and these places are marked with a related symbol.
	Tickets are sold in the lobby on the upper floor.
	Unobstructed access. There is an automatic door at the main entrance, and you can get to the lobby on the upper floor by lift. Parking places for those with mobility impairment are located near the main entrance, and these places are marked with a related symbol. Toilet/baby care room with unobstructed access is located in the lobby near the cloakroom. Wheelchair and walker can be borrowed from the ticket office. Assistants have free admission to Vellamo.
	Guide and assistant dogs are welcome.
	The cloakroom is located in the lobby. There are also lockers in the cloakroom.
	The lift to the lobby is located near the main entrance. The main exhibition of the Museum of Kymenlaakso is located on two floors with no direct lift connection between the floors. Those with mobility impairment and those moving with a pushchair can use the lift located in the centre of the boat hall for moving between the two floors.
	Magnifying glasses and torches can be borrowed from the ticket office.
	The ticket office is provided with a movable induction loop, and the auditorium and teaching facilities have a fixed induction loop. To facilitate the following of the guided tours, the ticket office lends induction neck loops and earphones which amplify the voice of the guide.

	Restaurant Laakonki is located next to the lobby.
	The Museum Shop Plootu is located adjacent to the ticket office.
	Men’s and women’s toilets are located in the lobby near the cloakroom. There are also toilets in conjunction with the changing exhibitions on the upper floor and in the Information Centre on the lower floor.
	The baby care room is located in conjunction with the accessible toilet in the lobby near the cloakroom. Pushchairs (2) can be borrowed from the cloakroom.
	There is a resting room available to those visitors requiring it. The museum staff will show the way to the resting room upon request.
	You can read the magazines and books of Information Centre Vellamo in the reading room of the Information Centre. Entrance to Information Centre Vellamo is located beside the entrance to Maritime Centre Vellamo.
