Information Centre Vellamo, located at Maritime Centre Vellamo is a research and learning centre, offering library and archive services.
The Information Centre facilities offer perfect work spaces for researchers and other people looking for information, and our customer service staff are always happy to assist. The central themes of the library’s collection are seafaring, maritime history, archaeology, museology and the history of the Kymenlaakso region and the archipelago. The collections also feature maritime fiction. Some of the books can be borrowed, and some may only be consulted in the library. By registering as a customer, you can obtain a library card for Information Centre Vellamo.
The central themes of the archive materials are the merchant fleet, the Finnish Maritime Administration, Kymenlaakso and the outer islands. The collection contains documents, maps, drawings and photographs.
