Come and use our exceptional conference facilities to brainstorm new ideas and make excellent decisions! You can combine an exhibition visit with your event. Even a short look into history adds a special touch to the conference day.

Reservation, confirmation and cancellation
The reservation becomes binding when the customer has accepted the offer either orally or in writing. Maritime Centre Vellamo sends a written confirmation of the reservation to the customer. Reservations can be cancelled free of charge 14 days before the event. Events cancelled later than this will be charged in full. Reservations made two weeks before the event must be confirmed immediately.
Advance preparations
The customer must inform Maritime Centre Vellamo of the event programme, the number of participants and any audiovisual equipment needed. The customer is responsible for ensuring that their presentation materials are compatible with the equipment of Maritime Centre Vellamo. If necessary, the materials can be tested on the equipment before the event. We kindly ask the lecturers to arrive at the centre at least 15 minutes before the event start time. If the event starts outside of the Vellamo opening hours, the customer must agree on the arrival time with Maritime Centre Vellamo.
Payment methods
Facility hire fees can be paid by cash, debit card, the most common credit cards or invoice. If you want to pay by invoice, we ask you to give the invoicing address in advance in order to ensure smooth services on site. A service fee of €5 is added to each invoice.
Commandant’s Chamber
The Commandant’s Chamber is an important part of the Fateful Svensksund exhibition. In the middle of the Commandant’s Chamber, there is a solid oak table surrounded by 15 modern, ergonomic design chairs. The meeting guests have access to Wi-Fi, a laptop and a 65″ screen. Villeroy & Boch’s Old Luxembourg tableware, crystal drinking glasses and cutlery add a festive touch to the table setting.

Example: 3 h/€200 for room rental + €25/person
The price includes coffee for the selected number of participants and the museum experience. The example price is only valid during the museum’s opening hours.
All rents include VAT at 24%.

Did you know? The Commandant’s Chamber is named after Jean Baptiste Prevost de Sansac, marquis de Traversay. The marquis was the commander of the Svensksund fortress and military port.
Auditorium Ilmari
The auditorium features 166 fixed seats in rising rows. With extra chairs, the number of seats can be increased to 213. The auditorium is perfect for seminars and meetings, but it is also an excellent venue for concerts or film viewings. Ilmari’s easy-to-use technology and good sound projection guarantee successful events.

Classrooms Ahti and Kaija
Both Ahti and Kaija have 32 seats, and they can also be combined into one larger meeting room. The spacious, modern and flexible conference rooms are excellent for meetings, training events, group work or as exhibitioners’ spaces.

Did you know? In Finnish folk mythology, Ahti is the god of the sea. He is the consort of Vellamo, the goddess of water, lakes and seas. Kaija means jetty in Finnish nautical slang.
Venttiili seminar room
Venttiili is a 20-seat cabinet in Maritime Centre Vellamo. It can be separated from restaurant Laakonki’s restaurant hall with a partition wall.
The oak tables are best suitable for diplomat seating.

Boat Hall
Celebrate with boats!
Vellamo’s majestic Boat Hall is perfectly suited for a variety of events. The Boat Hall exhibits an impressive collection of boats from different decades. They have been used for racing and leisure cruising, military and coastal guarding operations, fishing and rescuing.
Starting your seminar in the Boat Hall with a smoothie or toast, or holding a cocktail party or some other evening event is sure to be an unforgettable experience for your guests.

Icebreaker Tarmo
The mess room of the over 110-year-old icebreaker Tarmo is suited for small-scale meetings and celebrations. The unique atmosphere makes up for the lack of high tech!
The steam-powered icebreaker is open from May to August.
