The Warm Lights Film Fest is a 3-day event organized by Xamk Integration Support services, the City of Kotka and Maritime Centre Vellamo. During the event, Kotka residents (and anyone else who is interested) can watch four films from different cultures free of charge in Vellamo’s auditorium.

The Warm Lights Film Fest first edition brings films from Finland, Lithuania, Brazil and India. The films are shown in original languages and have English subtitles.

Each film is preceded by a 15-minute introduction to set the scene by people from those cultures. After the film a 30-minute Snack & Mingle gathering offers the audience an opportunity to talk about the films, ask questions and exchange impressions.

Although admission is free of charge, due to limited auditorium capacity tickets are needed. Free tickets can be picked up from Xamk’s infodesk, Vellamo’s infodesk, and Kotka’s main library’s infodesk during their regular opening hours. E-tickets can be also retrieved directly from Kide app. Tickets are also available at Maritime Centre Vellamo at the day of each event.
